Madeline Lag, LPC, is a licensed professional counselor who has experience in treating mood disorders, anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder, posttraumatic stress disorder, and interpersonal issues. She takes a client-centered approach to therapy and uses a biopsychosocial framework to help individuals improve their physical health, mental health, and interpersonal relationships.
Madeline received her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Knox College, and her Masters Degree in Clinical Psychology from the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs, where she provided individual and group psychotherapy. Drawing from both her clinical and research experience in mindfulness-based therapy, Madeline incorporates techniques from mindfulness-based cognitive therapy (MBCT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) such as grounding skills, breath-work, and relaxation techniques. In addition to mindfulness-based skills, she also utilizes skills from cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT).
Madeline believes in creating collaborative relationships with clients to help them foster personal growth and long-lasting change. Given the uniqueness of each individual, she tailors treatment to meet the specific needs of each patient. Madeline strives to use compassion, empathy, humor, and strength-based techniques to empower clients’ growth.
