Avery Norwick, LPC

Avery believes therapy is a collaborative process built on trust, safety, and compassion. She is dedicated to helping clients navigate life’s challenges—whether rooted in the past, present, or future—and to fostering hope and self-worth along the way.

She works individually with adults experiencing depression, anxiety, trauma, grief, mood regulation, interpersonal challenges, and major life transitions. Avery tailors her approach to each client’s unique needs, drawing from solution-focused, dialectical behavior, cognitive behavioral, and trauma-informed therapies. She is also mindful of how social identities such as gender, race, ethnicity, and sexual orientation shape individual experiences and mental health journeys.

Avery is passionate about working with couples and has additional training in the Gottman Method, which she uses to help partners deepen understanding, improve communication, and strengthen their relationships.

A Licensed Professional Counselor, Avery earned her Bachelor of Science in Clinical/Community Psychology and her Master of Science in Mental Health Counseling from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
