Meet Asia Amin, Preventive Care and Primary Care Specialist in Chicago

Q: What inspired you to pursue a career in medicine?

I’ve always loved helping people. Caring for and nurturing others has come naturally to me, and a career in medicine has allowed me to turn that passion into a lifelong profession.

Q: What is your approach to patient care?

My approach is simple: listen. I believe in being an active listener and partnering with my patients so they feel involved in every step of their care. Together, we can make informed decisions that support their long-term health.

Q: What areas of health do you specialize in?

I’m especially passionate about preventive medicine and women’s health. I enjoy helping patients stay healthy, identify concerns early, and take a proactive approach to their well-being.

Q: How do you want patients to feel after they see you?

I want every patient to leave feeling heard, understood, and confident in their care.

Q: How do you stay current and continue learning?

I stay current by reading medical journals and collaborating closely with my colleagues. I’ve found that learning from one another and sharing clinical experiences is one of the best ways to provide excellent patient care.

Q: What is one fact people would be surprised to learn about you?

I summited Mount Kilimanjaro!

Q: If you weren’t in medicine, what would you be doing?

I’d probably be working in a bakery.
