Meet Mayson Marcy, Preventive Care and Primary Care Specialist in Chicago

Q: What inspired you to pursue a career in medicine?

I’ve always been fascinated by the complexity of the human body and how it works. Combined with my love of meeting new people, it inspired me to pursue a career where I could build meaningful relationships and help patients become the healthiest version of themselves.

Q: What is your approach to patient care?

My approach to patient care is centered on advocacy, open communication, and collaboration. I strive to ensure my patients feel heard, informed, and involved in their care, while working together to develop personalized treatment plans that support their health and well-being.

Q: What areas of health do you specialize in?

I’m passionate about preventive health and helping patients take a proactive approach to their well-being. My clinical interests include nutrition, chronic disease management, weight management, and dermatology. I enjoy identifying risk factors early and partnering with patients to create sustainable plans that improve their overall health.

Q: How do you want patients to feel after they see you?

I want every patient to leave feeling heard, respected, and supported. My goal is for them to feel informed about their health, confident in their care plan, and reassured that they have a provider who will advocate for them.

Q: How do you stay current and continue learning?

I believe in lifelong learning. I regularly listen to medical podcasts, read the latest research, attend conferences and continuing education courses, and stay up to date on new medications and treatment options so I can provide evidence-based, high-quality care.

Q: What is one fact people would be surprised to learn about you?

I’m originally from Nashville, Tennessee. Outside of work, I love spending time outdoors with my Australian Shepherd and enjoy exploring nature with family and friends.

Q: If you weren’t in medicine, what would you be doing?

I’d spend my time traveling, experiencing new cultures, and enjoying great food with great people.
