8 Years of Innovating Healthcare

Happy birthday to us! 

Eight years ago, I opened the doors at Innovative Express Care. It was my first endeavor as an entrepreneur and frankly, a leap of faith. I had spent more than a decade at Northwestern Medicine working in emergency medicine and studying ways to improve healthcare. It was time to put my ideas and my passion for innovating healthcare to work. 

Innovative Express Care opened at the corner of Ashland Avenue and Fullerton Avenue on March 9, 2015. Funny story, we saw 4 patients opening day: an employee’s son, a family friend, my mother, and one actual patient who walked in off the street.

From day one, we differentiated ourselves from other clinics by offering quick and efficient, quality care. This included online scheduling and telemedicine (yes, even way back then). Year by year we’ve continued to add services and grow. What started as a single urgent care clinic is now a full medical group with 10 locations spanning primary care, urgent care, therapy and specialty medical clinics. 

From 2015 to now, we’ve grown our team from 4 to 150 employees. From 1 to 11 clinics. Many of our clinicians and staff have come to Innovative Care from area hospitals including Northwestern, Illinois Masonic, Rush, University of Chicago and Loyola. Our caring, highly skilled team – and the experiences our patients have had with Innovative have garnered more than 2,000 Google Reviews of an average of 4.5 stars.

When COVID hit Chicago, we immediately took action and started antibody and virus testing. We were one of the city’s first virus testing centers and during the peak of the pandemic, we were testing nearly 2,000 patients per day. We were the first private clinic to offer monoclonal antibody treatments to infected patients, and we gave the most treatment in Chicago.

Our formula is simple: stay true to our mission of continuing to evolve healthcare, always challenge yourself to refine and add services that benefit patient care and embrace technology. Basically, we need to continue to innovate. Innovative everyday.

As we celebrate the past eight years, I am even more excited for what’s to come. And believe me, we have something really exciting coming in the next 3-4 months. Big things are happening here at Innovative Care, and it’s all for you, our patients.
